April 16, 2008

Members of the Skidmore Community,

At our meeting this past Friday, the Institutional Policy and Planning (IPPC) Subcommittee on Budget and Finance continued our review of health insurance programs for non-union employees, and all supported the attached report for consideration by the IPPC. We believe this proposal is a solution that is fair to all of our employees, past and present, honors our commitments from previous years, and is both sustainable and financially responsible.

We are sharing our report and recommendations to the IPPC with the community in advance of the open meetings scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 21 in Gannett Auditorium and 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 in Emerson Auditorium. We urge you to read the important information linked below and to attend one of the two meetings scheduled.

We look forward to seeing you, sharing with you our recommendations, and responding to questions.

Michael West, Chair of the Subcommittee for IPPC Budget and Finance
Mary Cogan, Administrative/Professional Representative
Barbara McDonough, Support Staff Representative
Muriel Poston, Dean of the Faculty
Mark Huibregtse, Co-Chair IPPC, Faculty Representative
Mehmet Odekon, Faculty Representative
