Skidmore Faculty
Of the 246 full-time Skidmore faculty members, 84% hold the highest degree in their fields. 55% are female, 45% male; 17% are people of color or international.

Skidmore’s faculty is deeply committed to working collaboratively with students. In 2011, 85 students worked intensively with 42 faculty members on nearly 60 summer-long research projects in a wide range of disciplines.

Faculty have received grants from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, G.E. Global Research, National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Research Corporation, Bender Scientific Fund of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region, Getty Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and more.

Faculty have won major awards including MacArthur, Guggenheim, Peabody, Pulitzer, and Emmy, as well as the Franklin and Marshall Fellowship and American Academy in Rome Fellowship.
