A Center to Support Faculty Development at Skidmore

During academic year 2006-2007, as conversations about a permanent assessment structure for Skidmore College developed, some of those discussions focused on faculty development needs and on the possibility of creating a Center that would support faculty members across the range of their responsibilities and the trajectory of their careers. VPAA Susan Kress, in consultation with the Committee on Educational Policies and Planning (CEPP), constituted a group (the Center Study Group) to explore the faculty’s development needs, to ascertain whether a Center at Skidmore might be desirable, and to envision the scope of such a Center’s possible programs.

The membership of the Center Study Group (CSG) is as follows:

  • Two members from CEPP: Terry Diggory (chair); Rik Scarce
  • One member representing the Faculty Development Committee (FDC): Mary Ann Foley
  • The College Librarian: Ruth Copans
  • The Director of the First-Year Experience: Beau Breslin
  • The Registrar and Director of Institutional Research: Ann Henderson
The charge to the CSG is available here: Charge to Center Study Group
