THE KENAN CHAIR OF LIBERAL ARTS

The Kenan Chair of Liberal Arts, representing the College’s appreciation of a major challenge grant afforded Skidmore by the William R. Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust, may be appointed from any disciplinary areas of study at Skidmore. Members of the faculty will address nominations to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, who will consult with the Dean of the Faculty and the Committee on Appointments, Promotions & Tenure in making a recommendation. Kenan Chairs will typically serve from four to six years and will represent the institution both internally and externally as distinguished faculty and ambassadors to the larger intellectual community.
