Dear Classmates,
Where has the time gone! Our 60th Reunion is coming up June 3-6, 2010. More information on activities for the weekend will be coming directly from the College soon but we wanted to start you thinking and planning for this special event now.
Festivities begin on Thursday afternoon, June 3rd. We will be housed in assigned dorm rooms. That evening we are invited to participate in the Scribner Society Dinner at Murray Aikins Dining Hall with President Glotzbach and Marie Glotzbach. Friday night we'll have dinner in the Faculty Staff Club in Case Center and Saturday night we’ll have dinner in Murray Aikins Dining Hall with other post-50th Reunion classes. After dinner on Saturday night we will be able to enjoy the fireworks.
Other scheduled events: Saturday morning is the traditional Parade of Classes and Award Ceremony, followed by a fun picnic under a tent. Then, smile please, class photos will be taken. On Sunday morning there will be a Memorial Service for deceased Skidmore Alumni, at the new Alumni Memorial Garden, behind the Surrey Williamson Inn.
Golf carts, driven by Reunion student assistants, will be available all weekend for those who would like to take advantage of campus transportation.
We hope you enjoyed receiving your Class of 1950 Directory. If you know of changes or corrections which should be made, please send them to us or to the College. The class directory should help you to renew or catch up with old friends and perhaps it will make you aware of classmates living in your area who you did not know lived close by. Encourage friends to attend Reunion with you or, if you can't come yourself, without you.
You can also fill out the Class of 1950 history questionnaire electronically by clicking on the “Submit Class History” icon on the left. Just save the document to your computer desktop as “yourname.doc,” fill in and save. Then email as an attachment to jclark1@skidmore.edu. Be sure to put 1950 Class History in the title and send by April 9. You can also email an digital photo if you wish.
The weekend will be a time to connect with classmates, to see all that is happening on campus, and to "relive" your precious by-gone college days. Don't delay! Now is the time
to start thinking about and planning to come to Reunion. If you can't come for the whole weekend, come for whatever time you can. Of course, husbands and significant others are welcome!
We'll be looking forward to hearing from you soon and seeing YOU in June.
'Til then,
