Financial Aid and Your Bill
Fall billing packages are mailed on or about July 1st, with a payment due date of August 1st. Spring bills are mailed on or about November 15th, with a payment due date of December 15th. Memo credits for planned financial aid will be reflected for students that applied for financial aid, provided all required information, and were offered a financial aid award package through Skidmore College's Office of Student Aid & Family Finance.
If you have accepted financial aid awards and loans, prior to actual disbursement these semester amounts will appear as planned credits on the Skidmore College Statement of Student Account that you will receive in the mail. Student employment awards are not deductible from student fees and therefore will not appear as planned or actual credits on billing statements as these amounts are paid on a bi-weekly basis by payroll disbursement directly to the student based upon actual hours worked.
Skidmore College may not be aware of certain private scholarships that you have been awarded, and therefore these awards may not appear as planned credits on billing statements prior to actual receipt. If you have been awarded a private scholarship and have not already shared this information with the Office of Student Aid and Family Finance, please provide a copy of your outside scholarship award notification to Student Aid by mail.
Federal Stafford Loan proceeds for all students cannot be applied to student accounts until 10 days before the first day of classes for the loan disbursement eligibility period. Half of the annual loan proceeds will be applied to fall charges and half will be applied to spring charges. Depending on the selected lender, a loan origination fee and guarantee/default fee of up to 4% may be deducted from loan proceeds at the time of actual disbursement. If you elect not to take advantage of educational loan opportunities that may have been listed in your financial aid package, you will be responsible for personally making up for these payments.
