Charting Our Success

  • The Campaign seeks to double the College’s endowment and increase the Annual Fund to $7 million.

Giving Back

Susan Gottlieb Beckerman ’67 credits her mother for teaching her the importance of giving back—a lesson that has shaped her entire life. After financial aid enabled her to attend Skidmore, Susan wanted to support future generations of Skidmore students. She cultivates philanthropy among current students by matching the senior class gift to the Annual Fund. Susan has designated a future seven-figure, unrestricted bequest to the College “as a vote of confidence in Skidmore’s future.”
   A Generational Gift

Making a multi-year Annual Fund pledge to the Campaign in honor of her 60th reunion was a generational decision for Jean Ann Stirling Horton ’47. First, Jean Ann saw her younger sister, Mary Stirling Campbell ’51, thrive during her four years at Skidmore. Two generations later, Jean Ann rekindled her memories as she followed the college career of her granddaughter Rebecca Horton ’08. “Skidmore was a wonderful school 60 years ago,” said Jean Ann, “and I can’t imagine a better place for my granddaughter today.” Rebecca majors in government and minors in law and society. She plans a career helping to resolve international conflicts in the Middle East.
