Office of Student Diversity Programs Library
Made possible through donations from Student Government Association, the Office of Student Diversity Programs has numerous books and DVD's that can be borrowed free of charge. The library is located in the Intercultural Lounge (Case 225). Students, staff and faculty must have a valid Skidmore ID to check out library materials and will need to return them within two weeks.
Building Bridges Pre-Orientation
Building Bridges is a fun and dynamic introduction to diversity and leadership opportunities at Skidmore College. This pre-orientation program provides interested students an opportunity to talk openly and honestly about diversity and social change while meeting other students with similar interests and goals.
Project Unity
Created in the Spring of 2007, Project Unity is a civic and social forum for Skidmore's students of color, students of various sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions, international students, and their allies. The goal of the program is to promote the creation of an inter-group alliance and, in turn, help form a clear, strong and unified voice for all "minority" students at Skidmore College. Project Unity also aims to address students' sense of campus-belonging by establishing a supportive "home-base" at the College. For more information, please email osdp@skidmore.edu.
Project Unity meets every Friday at 3:30pm in the Intercultural Center.
SGA Committee on Diversity Affairs (CODA)
OSDP works closely with Student Government through CODA. The Committee is primarily concerned with institutional policy issues. It also addresses relevant club affairs, coordinates programs aimed at educating the campus and facilitates dialogue on diversity. Contact Emma Blumer '10, SGA Vice President for Diversity Affairs.
Respect Matters Campaign
The Respect Matters! Campaign is the result of the work of the 2007 Leadership Institute graduates. Respect Matters! looks toward Skidmore College’s future by addressing our commitment to diversity today. The Respect Matters! Campaign is dedicated to establishing a safe learning environment and promoting social awareness until tolerance prevails. Please email osdp@skidmore.edu for more information or to get involved.
