Rosana completed her BA in Liberal Arts as well as her MA in Higher Education Administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She is thrilled to begin her first year at Skidmore working in both the OSDP and Residential Life.  Throughout her graduate work, she saw the increased importance of diversity and the ways it impacts students and the overall community. She completed her internship in the Multicultural Students Affairs office and became an ally by participating in programs presented by the LGBT office. In addition, she has sought other opportunities to expand her knowledge and understanding of diverse issues such as mentor training for minorities. She brings an open mind and positive attitude to the position.

Student Assistant

Jamie is excited to be a senior at Skidmore and to be working as a student assistant for OSDP. She is a Psychology major from Long Island, NY. At an early age, she recognized the importance of embracing people’s differences when she witnessed intolerance and prejudice resulting from a lack of understanding people had of her brother on the autism spectrum. This helped develop her strong desire to see all individuals treated with respect and the dignity they deserve regardless of race, class, ability, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, or religion. At Skidmore she took advantage of many opportunities to feed her passion for social justice. Her involvement in OSDP clubs, her trip to California for NCORE ’09 (National Conference on Race & Ethnicity in American Higher Education), and her participation in the IGR (Intergroup Relations) courses helped to broaden her exposure to cultures other than her own. She hopes that some of her work and involvement at Skidmore will have some lasting effects on the racial and ethnic relations on campus. After graduating from Skidmore she plans to go to graduate school for Social Work and hopes to be able to further promote social equality.
