Volunteer Pre-Orientation Program

As a college student, civic engagement opens the door to new ways of looking at an and understanding the human condition.  This program seeks to help students recognize the value of community service work to their college experience and how to bring that interest into balance with the many other demands that full-time study and life away from home may make upon them.

Activities will include an overview of the Saratoga Springs community and agencies that are seeking volunteers, a volunteer experience and self-awareness activities.

No prior volunteer work is necessary.  What is needed is an interest and willingness to participate in the program, to learn to work with others using your creative and imaginative powers.

Volunteer Program participants will enjoy intensive working days and evening group social activities.  While each student will reside in his/her assigned residence hall room, personal commitment to the group and all phases of the Volunteer Program is expected and essential to the success of the pre-orientation project.
