![]() Dear Members of the Skidmore Campus Community, In 2005, Skidmore introduced Engaged Liberal Learning: The Plan for Skidmore College, 2005-2015 (the Strategic Plan). Now at the halfway point of the Plan, this is an appropriate moment to pause and consider where the College should focus its strategic attention and energy over the next five years, within the Plan's overall framework. This is especially the case because Skidmore – mirroring the national and global economic trends around us – finds itself dealing with significantly more constrained resources than when the Plan was developed. In order to provide our community with an opportunity to offer feedback on our strategic priorities, I have called a series of Town Hall Meetings to be held on campus in November. I hope that as many members of our campus community as possible will participate in these meetings. These discussions will provide important feedback as the Cabinet and I (in consultation with the Institutional Policy and Planning Committee and the Board of Trustees) make critical decisions about the strategic investment of our time, energy, and financial resources in the coming years. Please sign up, review the Town Hall Meeting preparatory materials, and participate in these conversations. These Town Hall Meetings will help to shape Skidmore's future, and we need to hear your voice. Sincerely, Philip A. Glotzbach President |
