Employer participation in our internship program is greatly encouraged since it provides the work environment for students to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to get ahead in today's competitive job market.

As a liberal arts college, Skidmore is committed to providing a well rounded education to the young men and women who are enrolled in a wide variety of disciplines including the arts, business and management, the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Through  internships students are able to use the knowledge and skills they develop in the classroom as they begin to practice applying them to the real world.

Many college students seek internship  experiences in the following  areas: business and management, communications, computer science, finance, accounting, advertising, PR, marketing, environmental science and policy, government, journalism, education, law, art, music, theater, graphic arts, medicine, psychology, public affairs, etc.
