Chemfinder.com (free, registration required) A very useful site for finding the formula, structure, systematic name, and Chemical Abstracts registry number of a compound based on its name.

National Center for Biotechnology Information A joint project of the National Insitutes of Health and the National Library of Medicine, this free site contains a number of searchable databases including online access to primary scientific literature.

NIST Chemistry WebBook Access to a number of thermodynamic and spectroscopic databases.

USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference Database of information on the nutrient content in foods.

Interactive Periodic Table of the Elements This periodic table includes all of the important properties of the elements including radius, electron configuration, ionization energy, etc. The information can be accessed one element at a time or periodic properties of all of the elements can be displayed in graphical form.
