Eligibility to Participate in Commencement 2008

I. If you have met all requirements by the end of Spring Term, you may march with your class in the processional and receive your diploma at Commencement.

II. If all requirements have not been met by the end of Spring Term:

A. You will receive your diploma by mail after August 31, 2008, if you have met all requirements during the summer.

B. You may march in the Commencement 2008 processional if the Registrar's Office has approved your plan to complete requirements during the summer.

1. By April 15, seniors must have received approval from the Registrar's Office for all summer completion plans, at Skidmore or at other institutions.
2. All transfer credit must be pre-approved by the Registrar's office.  Students must earn a grade of C or better in each transfer course.
3. All work at Skidmore or at another institution must be completed by August 31, 2008.

III. Any Incomplete Grade (I) at the end of Spring Term means your graduation date will automatically be changed to August 31, 2008. You may march in the processional with your class at Commencement 2008, but you will not receive your diploma or any honors at that time.

Grad Finale

The Grad Finale (April 22 & 23) is a one-stop opportunity for seniors to take care of all the necessary tasks in order to participate in graduation: pick up their caps and gowns; make sure their Bursar's Office accounts are clear; provide information for the Career Services jobs database; complete their Financial Aid exit interviews; check that their records with the Registrar are complete; purchase class rings and graduation announcements; complete the "phonetic pronunciation of your name" card for the Commencement ceremony; and more. It's graduation made simple!

Caps and Gowns

Order forms will be mailed to the seniors home address on or about January 5, 2008. The deadline for ordering is Thursday, February 15. All orders must be placed with The Skidmore Shop. Graduation Announcement

Order forms will be mailed to the seniors home address on or about January 5, 2008. There is no deadline for ordering accessory merchandise. All orders must be placed directly with Jostens. Please see order form for details. Questions should be directed to Jostens at www.jostens.com or 800-854-7464.
