Scope is the name of the College's oldest and most recognized content stream, and Skidmore's name for news. Scope Online and Scope Weekly are the recent Internet-based extensions to the Scope brand, featuring official news from the Office of Communications. It's our signal to the Skidmore community that we're moving into an electronic world very different from previous generations of Internet capability.
Our launch of Scope Monthly as a replacement for Skidmoremail reflects a broad effort to upgrade our email and Web communications and make more effective use of new 'social media.' It coincides with our introduction of Scope Online as a new page for news on the Skidmore Web site and our launch of Scope Video as a video player. If Scope Monthly is an important means for disseminating key links and information, then our content management system and SkidWik, our newly launched wiki, are our primary means for collecting links and information.
