Post-Star critic Jordan Readon penned this review of the exhibition.
Small groups continue to rotate for annual faculty exhibitions. This year's featured artists are Kyle Ford, Trish Lyell, Janet Sorensen, Peter Stake, and Joanne Vella. Ford will exhibit photographs, Lyell will show drawings, and Sorensen, Stake, and Vella will exhibit paintings. These artists are able to show a larger number of works than faculty members have exhibited in previous years when more than 20 artists participated in the annual exhibit. Skidmore studio art faculty have shown regionally and nationally, and most have gallery affiliations in one or more major cities throughout the country, are represented in numerous public and private collections, and have been the recipients of significant awards.
The Skidmore College studio art faculty consists of 12 full-time professors and 10 part-time visiting assistant professors, representing a wide variety of disciplines including art theory and foundations, ceramics, communication design, drawing and painting, electronic media, fiber arts, metals, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. The exhibition, reception and talk are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and weekends 1 to 4:30 p.m. Visit our website.
