Community Guide to Skidmore Resources
The North Woods

Skidmore's North Woods, a 170-acre area connected directly to the main campus, supports a biologically diverse animal and plant population that is important to student and faculty research. Much of area is available for public use, such as walking, running, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Dog walking is permitted, provided that dogs are leashed and the owners clean up after their pets. Certain activities are prohibited in the North Woods, including use of motorized vehicles, biking, hunting, overnight camping, and the building of structures. Skidmore welcomes the community to the woods and asks that the guidelines for usage be followed so that we all can continue to enjoy this wonderful resource.
