Sharing Job Opportunities in the Skidmore Network
Even during the toughest economic times, organizations need to fill positions that open due to attrition. Through our "Skidmore Hiring Skidmore" initiative, we're asking alumni, parents and friends to forward to Career Services employment opportunities in their own organizations so we may share this information with the greater Skidmore community. To post a job, please click here or contact Mike Profita, director of career services, at mprofita@skidmore.edu or by phone at 518-580-5790. For our jobs listing, see our email newsletter or CareerLink.
Advising for Alumni in Transition
Compensating on a per-case basis alumni with experience in career counseling and outplacement consulting, we're helping alumni who have been displaced from their jobs make the transition to new jobs and careers. For assistance, please complete and return the Application for Career Transition Advising.
Alumni Career Assistance Fund
We've established a fund to help defray at least in a small way career-related expenses of 20 alumni in transition, contributing up to $200 per alum to assist with such expenses as graduation school application fees, professional workshops to enhance your marketability, travel costs for interviews and recruiting programs, and preparation for graduate school admissions exams. We ask alumni who seek assistance to return the Alumni Career Assistance Fund Application.
The Skidmore Business Network (SBN)
The alumni-driven Skidmore Business Network (SBN) gives alumni working in a wide array of professional fields a proactive and efficient way to network. Skidmore parents and friends are also welcome to join. SBN's mission is to deliver quality speakers, compelling event topics, and an environment that will foster lifelong professional connections and partnerships. In addition to its current regional and national Yahoo listservs, SBN LinkedIn allows members to interface within one another anytime, anyplace. For more information on SBN, click here.
