Professor, Department of Economics, Skidmore College. Previously, served as a Fellow of the American Council on Education. He received his B.A. from the College of Wooster and Ph.D. from Temple University. His research area is the economics of sports, focused primarily on compensation schemes, incentives and monopsony power. He has also published in the areas of family labor supply and post-secondary pedagogy. Professor von Allmen is the co-author of two textbooks: The Economics of Sports, (with Michael Leeds) now in its 4th edition, and Economics (with Michael Leeds and Richard Schiming).
