Minors


 

The Education Studies Minor consists of at least five courses totaling a minimum of 18 credit hours, including:

1. ED 103 - Introduction To Teaching ; or ED 115 - School and Society 

2. four additional courses, at least one of which must be at the 300-level; and

3. students must take at least 12 credit hours at Skidmore to successfully complete the ED Minor.

All interested students should apply to the department chair for acceptance as an Educational Studies Minor and for assignment to a faculty advisor, who willwork with the student to devise a minor program suited to his or her interests and needs. Students must maintain at least a 2.000 average in the minor courses and must file a declaration of minor form with the registrar’s office before the beginning of their last semester at Skidmore.

Note: ED 233  and 300-level courses for the Education Studies Major (ED 334 , ED 335 , ED 336 , and ED 350 ) are not eligible to be taken for the minor.
