Sarah Webster Goodwin is Professor of English and has been teaching in IGR since it began at Skidmore. Her teaching interests, in addition to subjects related to racial identity and IGR, include early 19th-century British literature, the history of property, law and literature, and gender studies. She is also the Faculty Assessment Coordinator and is deeply interested in how people learn, what we want students to learn, how we know when they have learned it, and what to do when they haven’t. Goodwin is also the author of Kitsch and Culture: The Dance of Death in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Graphic Arts and of scholarly articles, and the co-editor of three volumes of essays, including Death and Representation and Feminism, Utopia and Narrative.
