Description:
SW333 Brian Gordon
Brian Gordon, B.A. works with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders and related social/emotional challenges and their families. He has directed several successful social skills programs, including the Spotlight Program in Danvers, Mass. Gordon served on the board of directors for the International Association of Theater for Autism. He regularly consults to schools and families, provides training to educators and other professionals, and is a speaker at both local and national conferences. He most recently designed a successful community-based social skills summer program for Beverly (Mass.) Public Schools.
In "Comedy and Autism: A Parallel Universe" (Journal of the International Association of Theatre for Autism, winter 2010), he explains the relationship between performance arts and teaching social pragmatics to individuals with social/emotional challenges.
Gordon has been living and working in the world of social skills education for well over nine years. A former professional standup comedian, he lives in Salem, Mass., with his wife and their cat. http://bsgsociallearning.com/
