This annual lecture, which made its debut in March 2005, is made possible by the generosity of Karen Levin Coburn (Skidmore Class of '63) and her husband Stephen Coburn. The lecture series explores contemporary issues in gender studies.
Jack Halberstam is Professor of English, Gender Studies and American Studies and Ethnicity at USC. Halberstam is the author of four books including most recently The Queer Art of Failure from Duke University Press, 2011. In fall 2012, Halberstam's next book, Gaga Feminism: Sex, Gender and the End of Normal, will be published by Beacon Press. Halberstam works and writes on popular culture, subcultures and queer theory and can be found blogging at bullybloggers.com
