"Instability in Afghanistan"
Location: Palamountain Hall: Davis Auditorium
Date: 02/20/2012
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Speaker: Prof. Noah Coburn and Greg Thielker
Description:
"Instability, Art and Ethnography: Reflecting Landscapes of Conflict in Afghanistan."
The current intervention in Afghanistan is wrought with contradictions and complications. How has our own rhetoric about international intervention misled us in our understanding of the conflict? Is there a better way to think about how conflict is shaping the landscape of daily life in Afghanistan?
These questions will be asked, and answered, in this combination lecture and exhibition (at Wilson Chapel) created by Noah Coburn and Greg Thielker, based on their recent research around the Bagram Airbase north of Kabul.
This is another event in the series by "Theater of War in a House of Peace."
