Alumni Volunteer Leadership Conference

From connecting with current students pursuing internships, to assisting with events and fundraising initiatives, volunteers help Skidmore achieve strategic goals that advance the mission of the College and make our alma mater an even better place for the students and faculty on campus right now.
Skidmore has a long tradition of volunteer service, and you are part of that heritage. From the founding of the Alumnae Association in 1919, through co-education in the early '70s, to our current emphasis on using technology to help alumni stay connected with the College and each other, Skidmore owes a great deal of its reputation as a thriving liberal arts college to our volunteers, who serve as advocates and champions.
Successful volunteer experiences and outcomes are a partnership between you, the volunteer, and the College. That is why we are inviting alumni volunteers back to campus for a one-day Volunteer Leadership Conference, October 27, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. You’ll have an opportunity to learn about key Skidmore initiatives, hone your volunteer skills through workshops presented by staff and key speakers, connect with fellow volunteers from all classes, and meet with staff liaisons regarding your important role. Of course, it is also an opportunity to show our gratitude for your service and so we will end the day with a special Volunteer Thank You Reception, hosted by the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
