Yestermorrow Design/Build School Info Session and Skidmore Student's Documentary Screening

Description:
Learn about opportunities for Skidmore students to learn about sustainable building and design at the Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Vermont. Yestermorrow's Executive Director, Kate Stephenson, will talk about a variety of ways Skidmore students can learn hands-on skills in design and construction through summer and winter-break workshops, internships, and a fall semester program. Current Skidmore students will answer questions about their recent experiences at Yestermorrow. Senior Eric Stumpf will show his 35-minute documentary film "House 227" which follows students as they design and build a sustainable 227 square foot house on a trailer in the fall 2011 Semester in Sustainable Building and Design. Come to Yestermorrow to:

  • Gain important hands-on skills developing a real-world project
  • Explore concepts of sustainability through practice
  • Work with expert instructors who are professional designers and buildersv
  • Add practical and relevant experience to your professional résumé
  • Open to college students, recent graduates, and professionals
  • The only prerequisite is self-motivation—no previous architecture or construction experience necessary
