"Religious Life Dialogues"
Location: Case Center: ICC
Date: 11/02/2009
Time: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Speaker: Prof. Rik Scarce
Description:
The "Religious Life Dialogues" are unique conversations exploring the religious aspects of current topics. The format is a brief presentation with extensive opportunity for audience response and engagement with the speaker. Prof. Rik Scarce (Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work) will start us off thinking about the question: "Is there spirit in nature?" Long before the current climate crisis, American environmentalism has been asking us to re-examine our relationship to nature, which has been largely utilitarian. Have we really understood nature at all? The event is moderated by Rick Chrisman, Interim Director of Religious ans Spiritual Life.
