Description:
USAS and A Space For Exploration are putting on a teach-in for higher education on Wednesday, March 3 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM in the Spa. As you may be aware, University of California tuition is increasing 32% next year, sparking student protests. March 4 is the day of solidarity with the UC schools. We decided to hold an event to spread awareness about this issue. We are doing it a day early because there is a lecture on the evening of the 4th. As we talked amongst ourselves, many opinions emerged, not all in agreement. As a result, we decided to hold an open mic teach-in about the issue. We think it would also be relevant to broaden the event to address higher education in general.
