Marga Gomez in Long Island Iced Latina

Location: Palamountain Hall: Davis Aud.

Date: 04/24/2010

Time: 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Speaker: Marga Gomez

Description:
Marga Gomez in Long Island Iced Latina "A woman to watch...A comic marksman. The show is a giddy 90 minutes with the deliciously cheeky Ms. Gomez." --The New York Times

HBO, Showtime, Off-Broadway and international comedy star Marga Gomez brings her award-winning show "Long Island Iced Latina" to Saratoga Springs for one night only. Marga's new play is a fired-up comedy for the dork in every Latino and the Latino in every dork. Comedienne Marga Gomez begins by sharing the cultural confusion and chronic virginity she experienced as the only brown girl in a white high school then switches gears to deliver an intoxicating manifesto for Latinos who can't speak Spanish, suck at Salsa and suffer from Blonditis. Gomez makes us think beyond even our best-intentioned stereoptypes, all while laughing hysterically at a story deliciously well-told. Co-Sponsored by Saratoga Arts and the Skidmore Pride Alliance
