Skidmore College Distinguished Scientist Lecture Series: "Some Uses of Color in Discrete Mathematics"

Speaker: Dr. Joan P. Hutchinson, Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science, Macalester College

Description:
Dr. Hutchinson is an expert in graph coloring, an area of mathematics with a wide range of fascinating applications. Her talk, which will be accessible to a broad audience, will survey some of places in which this field of mathematics is useful, including topics such as how to color a map with as few colors as possible, designing magic squares, and how to position guards in an art gallery.

Followed by a reception with refreshments.
