Description:
"The Long Emergency vs NYC's Resurgency" A Debate about the Future of Cities with Paul Steely White, Executive Director - Transportation Alternatives and James Howard Kunstler, Author Moderator: Jeff Olson - Alta Planning + Design We live a time of either the collapse of our society or the emergence of innovative solutions. This extraordinary evening will feature two of America's most interesting voices: James Howard Kunstler, whose book The Long Emergency: Surviving the End of Oil, is an apocalyptic vision of a post-oil future, and Paul Steely White of Transportation Alternatives, a leader who is helping to transform New York City into a livable metropolis. Both speakers share a common vision of the need for a sustainable future - the debate will focus on whether or not change is possible in light of our modern condition.
