Environmental Physiology Lab
The Environmental Physiology laboratory at Skidmore College supports student and faculty research aimed at investigating the effect of environmental factors on human response to physical activity. Skidmore faculty and students utilize the following laboratory technologies in their research:
Doppler Unit
Used to assess blood flow in the aorta
Platelet Function Analyzer
Used to determine how quickly platelets begin to adhere to one another under various conditions
Temperature Probes
Used to measure body temperature at various sites, including tympanic temperature, skin temperature, and core temperature
