Welcome to the Office of Financial Aid

A private college education involves a considerable financial commitment. While students and their families assume primary responsibility for their educational costs, the Office of Financial Aid will work closely with students and their parents to develop financial aid packages and/or financing plans. Whether a student applied for financial aid or not, Skidmore can help in planning how best to meet your educational costs.

Nearly half of Skidmore's students receive some form of financial assistance. Most of the financial assistance at Skidmore is awarded on the basis of demonstrated need and is provided through a student-aid "package" that usually includes a grant, a campus job, and a loan. Student aid funds come from a variety of sources, including Skidmore's own need-based grants and scholarships, as well as federal, state, and independent programs.

Especially if you are experiencing financial pressures stemming from the ongoing economic crisis, we encourage you to use the resources of the Office of Financial Aid. We are available to assist you in person on campus on a walk-in basis or by appointment, by calling 518-580-5750 and/or finaid@skidmore.edu.
