Honors

To be eligible for departmental honors, a student must write a thesis in the foreign language and pass an oral defense of the thesis, complete courses FG 374  in German and FS 374  in Spanish and FF 373  and FF 374   in French with a grade of A- or better, and have at least a 3.5 average in the major. Outstanding students of French are also eligible for nomination to the Nu Iota chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the national French honor society. Outstanding students of Spanish are eligible for nomination to Sigma Delta Pi, the national Spanish honor society.
