Friends of the Presidents

Overview

For more than a century, Skidmore has enjoyed strong progressive leadership from seven presidents, each of whom envisioned Skidmore as an educational institution that strives for excellence, values collaboration, embraces creativity, invites risk, and welcomes change.  Throughout its history, the College has relied on the generosity of leadership donors—the Friends of the President—to  provide financial support and to set a standard for giving that inspires the entire Skidmore community.

Today, the national profile of Skidmore has never been more prominent, and the future has never looked brighter.  Yet, there is much to be done to maintain this momentum and continue efforts to be a college that prepares our students to thrive in an increasingly complex world.  Members of the Friends of the Presidents support every aspect of the educational experience and invest in Skidmore’s goals and the necessary actions to accomplish them.

Participating in the life of the College as a member of the Friends of the Presidents demonstrates an extraordinary endorsement of Skidmore and its mission.  Together, more than 1,000 Friends of the Presidents invest in Skidmore’s unique approach, which marries a commitment to developing students’ creative capacities with practical, real-world applications, and experience.
