Health Services Confidentiality Policy

A student's medical record at Health Services is confidential, and information from it is only released with the student's request and written permission, or by judicial subpoena. Records are kept for six years after graduation and are then destroyed.

Information cannot and will not be released to parents without prior consent from the student, unless the student is less than 18 years of age. We consider you to be an "emerging adult", capable of making independent educated decisions. Feel free to ask us questions.

Relationship with Saratoga Hospital
If you go to Saratoga Hospital or the Urgent Care Center, and identify yourself as a Skidmore Student, your medical evaluation may be shared with Health Services. This promotes continuity of care and may be best for your medical condition. Please take advantage of this opportunity and allow us to best help you.

Medical Excuses for Absenteeism
Health Services does not provide excuses for being absent from class.
