How do I add entries to my site's navigation?

There are three different ways to add a link to the navigation for your site, depending on to what you are linking.


Method 1: Linking to an external link


Method 2: Linking to a PDF file or other document

Method 3: Linking to a page in your site.

  If the page already exists.
  1. Navigate to the page.
  2. Click the Page View icon (View Mode Icon) and select author.
  3. Click the Properties and Actions icon (Page and Template icon) and select "Custom Metadata..."
  4. Click the "Skidmore_Nav" tab. This tab controls the navigation settings for the page.
  5. Enter how the page is to be sorted and set the "Include in Nav" checkbox to the proper setting. The page will only be included in the site if the checkbox is checked.
  If the page does not exist
  1. Click the Properties and Actions icon (Page and Template icon) and select  "Create New Page..."
  2. Fill out the form on the Standard Metadata window. When finished, click the Next button.
  3. The Custom Metadata window will appear.
  4. Click the "Skidmore_Nav" tab. This tab controls the navigation settings for the page.
  5. Enter how the page is to be sorted and set the "Include in Nav" checkbox to the proper setting. The page will only be included in the site if the checkbox is checked.
