Request a testimonials plug in to be installed on your site

Contact the web team via the web form.
Please let us know who will be entering the testimonials, and the URL of the page that you would like them to appear on.  We will be in touch with you to discuss exact placement of the plug in, etc.  Once the plug in is installed, you'll be able to enter your testimonials and have them display on the site.


Log into the system

  1. Go to http://cmsauthor.skidmore.edu/news/admin/
  2. Enter your Skidmore Username and Password.
  3. Click OK.

To Create a New Announcment

  1. Click Testimonials from the list provided
  2. Click Create New Testimonial button
  3. Fill out the form
    • First Name: The first name of the person attributed to the quote.
    • Last Name: The last name of the person attributed to the quote.
    • Class Year: The year the person graduated, if available.
    • Title: Additional information you wish to include with the name.
    • Quote: The testimonial text.
    • Thumbnail image: Upload an image of the person if available. The image must be 85px X 98px.
    • Audio File: A link to an audio file, if available.
    • Photos: Link to photos, if available.
    • Video: Link to a related video, if available.
    • Person's Website: Link to the person's website, if available.
    • Profile: Link to a secondary profile, if available.
  4. Click On to Step 2>>
  5. Set the display, priority, start date, and end date for your testimonial.
    • Display: Set to 'yes' if you want the testimonial to show up. Set to 'no' if it needs to be hidden.
    • Priority: Level of urgency. If set to '1', the testimonial will appear at the top of the testimonials on the page.
    • Start date: The date you want the testimonial to show on the site. You can set up testimonials to show up on a specific date. On the morning of that date, the testimonial will automatically appear without you having to manually turn it on.
  6. Click Submit

To Edit an Existing Testimonial

  1. Click Testimonials from the list provided
  2. Find the Announcment in the list at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click Edit
  4. Make any changes within the form
    • First Name: The first name of the person attributed to the quote.
    • Last Name: The last name of the person attributed to the quote.
    • Class Year: The year the person graduated, if available.
    • Title: Additional information you wish to include with the name.
    • Quote: The testimonial text.
    • Thumbnail image: Upload an image of the person if available. The image must be 85px X 98px.
    • Audio File: A link to an audio file, if available.
    • Photos: Link to photos, if available.
    • Video: Link to a related video, if available.
    • Person's Website: Link to the person's website, if available.
    • Profile: Link to a secondary profile, if available.
  5. If all you are doing is changing content, then click Quick Submit—this will skip the page that sets the display, start date, etc. Otherwise, to adjust the display settings, select Click On to Step 2>>
