SKIDMORE COLLEGE HONORS FORUM
PROPOSAL FOR THE SENIOR CAPSTONE REQUIREMENT

Each graduating member of the Honors Forum must complete an honors capstone project during the senior year. In most cases the capstone will be a substantial, culminating project (thesis, research report, performance, exhibit, etc.) defined by the student's major department(s), often as one of the expectations for earning Departmental Honors. In some cases, however, the capstone for the Honors Forum might be a paper or project of especially sophisticated design to be completed within one of the student's "traditional" 300-level courses. Whatever the nature of the capstone experience, the student's intention for the capstone, with a brief description of the project, must be submitted for approval by the Honors Forum before the semester in which the project will occur (or very near the beginning of the semester). The chair of the Honors Forum will review the capstone proposals (in some cases with the aid of the Honors Council), and forward the results of the review, with the course rubric for each student, to the Office of the Registrar.
Enter the course name and number under which the project is being conducted and credited (ex. ID372, SO376).  In nearly all cases the project must be done for 3-4 semester hours of credit.
