Getting Started with your e-portfolio

To access your e-portfolio

To add documents to your e-portfolio

  • Click on "Add a new document"
  • Type in a descriptive title for your document (i.e. HF101 Summer Essay)
  • Click on "Browse"
  • Select the file you wish to add
  • If you want, type in a summary/description of the file so that people reading the portfolio have an idea of what the file is. You should use this to reflect on what went well and what could be improved in the document. What would you do differently if you were to do this again?
  • Click "Add the item" to add your file along with the associated title and summary. The title and summary can be modified later, if you wish.
  • After you add the file, you will be returned to your e-portfolio. Click on the "Control Access" column next to the newly added file. In the first space type "Honors Forum Assessment" and set the rights granted to "view comments." Be sure to check the "group" button. (See below for more information on the various actions you can take to manage files in your e-portfolio)

To manage files in your e-portfolio:

The upper half of the screen lists the documents that you uploaded into your e-portfolio. The bottom half lists documents that other uploaded into their portfolios and have granted you the right to access.

The first two columns show the date the file was added, and the title of that item. The next five columns describe actions that you may take with the file. If any column is blank, you do not have permission to take that particular action with that file.

Actions that you may take

  • View Info : displays the information on the file, including all comments submitted about it
  • View Doc : allows you to open, print or save the file
  • Comment : allows you to add a comment about the file
  • Control Access : allows you to control who can view, comment on and update the file
  • Update : allows you to modify the file's title and summary
