Skidmore College Education and Development
Education and development at Skidmore begins with our New Employee Orientation (NEO) program. This program is given five times throughout the Academic Year. All new community members (Administrators, Faculty, Support Staff and Union employees) are invited and encouraged to attend this half day program. The design of the program enables new employees to explore life at Skidmore through a variety of departmental presentations. The purpose of this program is to provide an overview of the College and the opportunity to meet with other members of the Skidmore community.
In addition to the NEO, a variety of educational programs are offered throughout the year. These programs are geared toward staff development. Some of the recent topics include:
- Assessment Interviewing
- Communication
- Delegation
- Management Dynamics
- Meeting Management
- Project Management
- Teamwork
- Time Management
As part of building community relationships across campus, Human Resources also hosts informative community gatherings ranging from coffee chats to luncheons. A full list of programs can be accessed by clicking the HR Program Calendar 2007-2008 link in the right-hand navigation box. Your suggestions for new programs or possible presenters are always welcome.
