IT workshops are open to all members of the Skidmore community, free of charge and are designed to promote the effective use of popular computing applications.
Each workshop offers useful information about a specific technology offered by a knowledgeable instructor in a small class environment. Classes range from 60 minute information sessions to hour(s) long hands-on sessions.
Please note that some intermediate and advanced workshops include prerequisites or previous experience required toward a specific topic or application.
If you do not see a workshop for the specific topic you seek, please send your workshop idea to Kelly or request an individual appointment to discuss options.
Atomic Learning Online Tutorials
The Academic Technology department offers access to a free web-based software training resource for Skidmore faculty, staff, and students called Atomic Learning. Atomic Learning offers access to a multitude of helpful online training videos covering specific pieces of software, operating systems, and many other beneficial topics. Customized Workshops
In addition to our regularly-scheduled workshops, we offer customized departmental or group training sessions as well. This training is designed to meet the needs of groups that would like specialized instruction on one or more topics. Please contact Kelly
to plan your session.Registration Information
Registrations are taken on a first come, first serve basis. Priority is given to Skidmore faculty, staff, and students. All registrants should have a valid Skidmore computing account.

Off-campus Teaching and Learning Resources:
Faculty should watch for announcements about workshop opportunities sponsored by the National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education (NITLE), a Mellon-funded organization promoting instructional technology through cooperation among IT staff, librarians, and faculty.
We also partner with New Horizons in Latham and the ACC Center for Business and Professional Development at the Queensbury or Wilton Campus. Vouchers are available to faculty and staff who are interested in software training not provided by Skidmore. Please visit New Horizons or the ACC Center to view their available courses.
