Academic Technologies provides access to web-based software training for Skidmore faculty, staff, and students from lynda.com. Lynda.com offers access to a multitude of helpful online training videos covering hundreds of applications. To request an account, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The lynda.com online training library presents tutorials online as quicktime movies with narration. Sometimes exercise files are available for download in order to work on projects demonstrated. Topics are mostly related to software for graphic design, video editing, and web page development; there are also tutorial movies for MS Office, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Captivate, and AutoCAD.
IT workshops are open to all members of the Skidmore community, free of charge and are designed to promote the effective use of popular computing applications.
Each workshop offers useful information about a specific technology presented by a knowledgeable instructor in a small class environment. Classes range from 60 minute information sessions to hour(s) long hands-on sessions.
In addition to our regularly-scheduled workshops, we offer customized departmental or group training sessions as well. This training is designed to meet the needs of groups that would like specialized instruction on one or more topics. Please contact Kelly to plan your session.
