Video with QuickTime Server
What is the streaming server?
Information Technology supports a streaming server, which provides faculty the capability to upload and share video clips via the web. Streamed video files are prepared and optimized using the QuickTime Streaming Server Publisher software. The streaming video process allows individuals to prepare and share high quality digital video content that can be viewed in or outside class. To learn more about QuickTime streaming technology, please refer to Apple’s webpages found at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/streamingserver/faq.html
How can faculty share video with the streaming server?
Faculty can use this resource to display student video projects and assignments. The streaming server is also an ideal solution for displaying and archiving video clips that faculty use on a regular basis. If you find yourself using segments of VHS tapes in class often, it will be easier and save time in the long run to digitize and store these as files on the streaming server.
How do I get started?
