Create Your Account

This process starts with the registrar for students and human resources for employees. Until those offices enter your personal information, you cannot create your new account.

Students: Go to the account creation page for students.

Newly enrolled and/or transfer students - You will need your personalized enrollment number, which was provided within your admission acceptance letter. Your personalized enrollment number is also known as your Skidmore ID number.

Non-faculty employees: Proceed to non-faculty account creation.

Faculty: The account creation page for faculty is here.

Returning? If you had a Skidmore account but it was closed, some resetting is required before you can recreate it. Please contact the help desk by walking up between 8:30 am and 4:30 am weekdays or call (518) 580-5900 between the same hours.

Guests Affiliated with the College

Guests who are affiliated with the college (family member on-campus for the day, visiting alumni, vendors, program/conference attendees, guest speakers, etc.) may obtain a temporary username and password. The account may last from one day to two weeks. It allows logging onto wireless or Ethernet. Such an account does not have network rights; it essentially has only Internet access.

They may stop at the help desk on the first floor of the library during our normal working hours (M-F 8:30-4:30) and make the request in person. In the evening, the technicians from media services who setup projectors, sound, etc. are able to generate guest usernames and passwords in a crisis. An example would be a speaker from off-campus needs to be able to log into a computer and their sponsor did not plan ahead and request guest access.

Employees may also plan ahead and request guest access in advance of the speaking engagement or conference. Call the help desk at (518) 580-5900. Be prepared to answer several questions about the visitor, the time period, and so on.

Guests without College Affiliation

Skidmore College has a private network. Members of the community and others with no affiliation to the college may not obtain a guest account or otherwise use the network.
