Scribner Library
The Lucy Scribner Library brings together resources for both traditional and high technology research. Housing nearly 400,000 volumes, the library offers electronic access to over 14,000 newspaper, magazine, and journal titles, with search capacity in more than 100 subscription databases ranging widely throughout the arts and sciences.
Each Master’s student is assigned a research librarian specializing in their area of study who is available to help with specific issues they encounter in the course of their research. Students living at a distance from Skidmore have full borrowing privileges, and books within the library’s holdings are shipped domestically or abroad free of charge. Students living in the Saratoga region are eligible to participate in the Capitol District Libraries Council, a consortium that allows members to borrow materials from an array of regional colleges and universities. Students living farther afield may typically take advantage of reciprocal arrangements with nearby schools.
