Directions

  • Take the Clinton Street (back) exit from campus
  • Turn left (south) onto Clinton Street
  • Turn right onto Clement Avenue
  • Turn right (north) onto Seward Street
  • Proceed to Denton Road (road curves left)
  • Pass under the railroad bridge; the baseball field
    and pavilion are just ahead on the right

Located 1.25 miles from campus, the Castle Baseball Diamond is the center for most intercollegiate and intramural baseball and softball games.

The Jarvis Pavilion is adjacent to the ballfield. This open-air shelter offers space for picnics and informal recreation. 


Disability Access

The parking lot and paths are unpaved gravel and could be challenging for some individuals.

There are no accessible restrooms or potable water at this site.


History

Castle Diamond is named for David A. Castle '87. Members of the Castle family have been eager supporters of Skidmore and its baseball program.

The Javis Pavilion is named for Bob Jarvis, the head of Physical Plant (now Facility Services) during much of the 1970s and '80s. Jarvis was renowned for his creativity in developing economical solutions to the College's building, grounds, and energy challenges.
