Pierre von Kaenel
Prof. von Kaenel teaches computer science courses and was department chair from Fall 2005 through Spring 2010. In the early 1970’s he worked for the Department of Defense doing research in pattern recognition. His work included simulating missile guidance systems using FORTRAN. Later he received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Syracuse University. He eventually returned to computer science, focusing on the development of simulators of computer systems. His current interests are object-oriented programming, relational tags and other associations between data, and software design, including design patterns.
