Williamson Challenge to match gifts
To
help increase the number of donors currently giving to Skidmore and to complete
the $200 million Creative Thought Bold Promise campaign, Susan Kettering Williamson
'59, College trustee and co-chair of the campaign, has offered to add $1 million
to her own gift if 10,000 alumni, parents, and friends make a gift of any size
to Skidmore by May 31, 2010. "In the last year of the Campaign," Williamson said,
"we want to finish strong. Now more than ever, the College needs the support of
every member of the Skidmore community."
Michael Casey, Skidmore's vice
president for advancement, said, "Sue's approach to philanthropy has always been
about how she can bring others along with her. To my mind, that's the essence
of true leadership. And bringing others along is what this challenge is trying
to do, because every gift will count and every gift will make a difference."
Alumni
and friends of the College are urged to make a gift and help spread the word about
the Williamson Challenge. Anyone willing to volunteer as a class agent to help
spread the word should contact Lori Eastman, director of development, at leastman@skidmore.edu.
