Activities

Paul Arciero, associate professor of exercise science, gave a presentation titled "Your Brain and Brawn: Awakened by Exercise and Healthy Food" Oct. 7 at the monthly residents meeting of Prestwick Chase senior community in Saratoga Springs. Using scientific research as a basis for his talk, Arciero presented what he called "Dr. Paul's Protocol," explaining how optimal health can be achieved through a balanced approach to wellness, nourishment, and performance.  The talk was followed by a question-and-answer session. Arciero is currently a co-investigator of a research study examining the brain and physical benefits of video-game enhanced cycling exercise in older adults; some of the participants of the study have been Prestwick Chase residents.

Jim Kennelly, director, International Affairs Program and professor of management and business, gave a talk titled "Capitalizing on Culture:  Competitiveness, Sustainability and Sense of Place in Post-Boom Ireland" Oct. 30 at the David O'Brien Centre for Sustainable Enterprise at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, Montreal.

Publications

Elzbieta Lepkowska-White, associate professor of management and business, published an article titled "Group Projects Using Clients Versus Not Using Clients:  Do Students Perceive and Differences?" co-written with Amy L Parsons, in the Journal of Marketing Education, Vol.  31, No. 2, August 2009.

In the News

Thomas Lewis, professor of English, was the subject of an article titled "The Changing Hudson" in Spirit of Saratoga, November 2009, published by The Saratogian.

Michael Profita, director of career services, was a source for a story titled "Bad job market nudges students into grad schools," published Oct. 29 in The Daily Gazette.
